Challenge

The new bus station is to be fitted with reflective ceiling panels. It is important that individual panels can be unhooked or removed for maintenance.
It was clear that the panels had to be designed as cassettes in order to achieve an absolutely flat surface. Likewise, markings from stiffeners glued to the back must be prevented at all costs so as not to disturb the mirror image.

Solution

ECOLITE’s easy-to-install and time-tested KA system allows for the installation and removal of panels and, thanks to its invisible fasteners, meets the highest aesthetic standards. Furthermore, the integration of rear stiffening profiles can be easily achieved. With the right choice of materials, temperature-induced discoloration of the stiffening profiles can be minimized. Ceiling cladding with a constant dead load is particularly challenging in this context when it has a reflective surface.
In addition to bonding with liquid adhesives, TESA double-sided tape was also tested and found to be very suitable for this application. To this end, specific tests involving several weeks of exposure were conducted in advance.
