Challenge

Curved GFB elements weighing up to 800 kg and measuring 5 m in length had to be installed safely and easily. The large curtain distance of the elements, 420 mm in some cases, placed particular demands on the statics, including earthquake safety. In addition, a solution had to be found for the lamination of the vertical joint without using joint plates pre-assembled on the elements.

Solution

The agraffes and their attachment to the elements were developed in collaboration with the supplier of the GFB elements. Newly developed special stainless steel brackets and a new, very rigid T-profile were used to support the high loads. The UB double support profile was used to prevent the support grippers from twisting in relation to the support profiles. A special, malleable joint profile was specially developed for the joint closure.

Ecolite Systems in Use

  • New Stainless Steel Brackets

  • Thermo V Sliding-Point Brackets

  • Support Profiles of the UB 35 Series

  • New T-profile 60x120x3 mm

  • Joint profile (black) tailored to the shape
