Challenge
A high-quality ALUCOBOND façade for an extraordinary car dealership, featuring a deep-set curtain wall and subtle curves. The floating-mounted, partially perforated cladding requires a discreet support structure and a sound structural foundation.
Solution
For the main facade, a project-specific SZ variant was designed in collaboration with the general contractor so that the strength of the partially perforated ALUCOBOND elements could be ensured by “concealed” stiffening profiles that transfer loads to the longitudinal profiles. The suspended elements are fixed to the underlying horizontal support profiles in a manner that allows for unrestricted expansion, and all resulting loads are transferred to the building structure via a sophisticated system of specialbrackets and wind bracing.
