The new building in Zurich Altstetten with a façade area of approx. 5000 m² is to be clad with sheet metal cassettes of different widths and depths. The aim is to fix as few brackets as possible in the concrete substrate and to keep the façade membrane tight between the substructure and the façade cladding.
To determine the load-bearing capacity of the sheet metal cassettes, a wind load test series was carried out on the Ecolite test wall. Thus, in addition to determining the maximum spans, the strength of the suspension and the behaviour of the nail seals between the profiles and the wind paper could also be checked directly.
